Your First Self Hypnosis Session - How to Grow Your Results

In this article I'll show you how to grow your session results with self hypnosis, even if you are brand new to the
subject. It's your attitude that counts with your first self hypnosis session.

How you mentally approach self hypnosis is very important. Self hypnosis uses particular mechanics and tools to
help your subconscious mind relearn habits. But all of that can't work if your bad attitude is in the way. Your results
suffer, and sometimes you'll want to blame the self hypnosis script for your lack of success. Here's a different
way to look at that...

What's Involved to "Grow My Results" With Self Hypnosis?

Here's my quick-and-dirty three step process to get your self hypnosis attitude right:

  • Create an excitement about that wish to change. For instance, say you want to lose those last ten pounds. Why not think about that leaner, fitter,
    healthier version of yourself you'll become? Once or twice each day, just pleasantly recall that excitement you felt at the beginning. And do that
    each day just before your self hypnosis session until you've achieved your goal. Make sense?

  • In addition to following the mechanical process of inductions, scripts and wake-ups, you have to make a contract with yourself to be disciplined
    about your attitude and approach. Getting back to the weight-loss example: you've chosen the best meal plans and portion sizes science and your
    preferences will allow. Now you need to follow through with resolve to get your one or two brief hypnosis sessions in. And that plan would only
    need to continue for a few consecutive days anyway. You WILL make the commitment to do that, right? Let's leave the "try" and "what if" for other
    people. You will. And you're going to be disciplined about this approach to get you there.

  • You must accept that the self hypnosis script you're using will be approached with a relaxed accepting attitude. This is very important. Here's why:
    as you're experiencing those levels of self hypnosis -- and you accept the process completely  -- your conscious mind will become less critical. It'll
    accept the steps required. It'll welcome the suggestions too. Result: you're success will grow until you're where you want to be.

Anyway... it's not you're job to deal with the intricacies of self-hypnosis (unless you enjoy that). Most of us should just relax and enjoy the experience --
and trust the results. You'll have your proof soon enough: If the hypnosis script was bad, you'll "grow" with some other author's scripts. I offer my unique

Any More Suggestions to Help My Self Hypnosis Results?

Here's how to help make self hypnosis work better, the hypnotize-yourself-as-you-read way:

  • Create the correct atmosphere - A quiet, darkened, affirming, nurturing place is best.

  • Play the relaxing music you like. - It could be baroque, new age or even soft rock instrumental music. Your choice will help you relax your way. Just
    make sure the volume is very low and supportive to relaxation.

  • Be determined to have no judgment about how you're doing now or in the future.

  • You'll should only trust the process.

  • You will not overanalyze. - Here's an analogy: music critics usually say they enjoy the movie more and fall into the hypnotic spell of it better by just
    relaxing and allowing themselves to be transported during that first viewing. (Most of them say they save the point-by-point analysis of movies for
    their second viewings. And, believe me, they're a lot less hypnotized when they have to scribble and analyze every detail of the filmmaking
    process then.

When you do these things here's a glimpse of the results you'll enjoy: you'll relax and go deeper into the hypnotic state to benefit yourself even more.
And the sessions will go quicker, be better for you and stick -to-your-ribs better than Mom's breakfast oatmeal. Sound good?

What I  Learned After My First Self Hypnosis Session

Luckily I was so excited and determined for it to work, I just accepted the process the self hypnosis script author
laid out. And it really worked. You see, I had an important speaking engagement in front of me where I had to do
a tv interview show. I was anxious enough that I really needed help.

After that success, and a few others, I thought I'd take some shortcuts (bad idea). I got a little lazy. Result: not so
good.

I learned my lesson. From there on I told myself this: "I've got to decide if I really want to do this or not? If I want this
I will focus and follow instructions. I don't want to get in the way of my self hypnosis success. I know I like to be in
control then but I can't let that happen now. So I've got to just let it be, have fun, be hopeful, and enjoy the process."

And self hypnosis has worked for me since.

After you try this attitude-rewiring approach to self hypnosis, you'll grow your results too. I'm sure of it.
